Tropical Havana

In the past year, I’ve tried to update my style by swapping my staple floral pieces for botanical leaf prints. This is just one of the simplest ways to keep your summer style revolving. I’ve found that this print really refreshes your holiday wardrobe and by choosing the right pieces you can really inject a dosage of colour and the style really takes me back to happy times on holiday, yes that sounds cheesy but it’s true!

I bought this red cropped leaf print top from TopShop a couple of years ago and even wore it in Cuba were tropical prints are everything!  For a real havana this top looks great teamed up with a red skirt to really make the top become more vibrant and more focus to the top. It’s also a button through top which looks a little bit edgier knotted at the bottom when worn with a skirt. This is such an easy way for me to keep my style revolving and darker leaf print patterns will see you through to Winter 2016, especially metallic pieces!

I also love that this top can be thrown on over jeans and with a couple of accessories and I’m summer ready, especially when our UK summer is so unpredictable.

This is another take on the leaf print a style, a palm print a-line dress from TopShop, which I wore on a night out, on holiday and during the summer. It’s important to find patterned dresses that flatter your figure and don’t add extra pounds, you can do this by choosing more fitted dresses. I love that this dress skims in and then out to really create a feminine silhouette.

Botanical leaf prints can help you achieve that edge look, but it’s searching for the right colours that brighten and compliment your complexion. If you want to take the style through to A/W16 then choose darker shades that can be worn with fur for the ultimate nature image.
