Simplistic Chić

Sometimes, (not often) I like to dress in a cool, casual yet chic way. I’m slowly but surely realising that sometimes a laid back approach really can mean more in my little stylish life.

I found this chevron top in the Zara sale and for a tenner I really wasn’t going to debate about it. Perhaps this was because I have seen a very simple yet girlie touch to the chevron pattern in the past few months and I wanted to join the club.

I fist and foremost love the colours of this top as the peach tone is perfect for spring and the mulled wine tone will help me transition into autumn – how appropriate Zara!

To me the slouchy effect of the top totally says “this is a relaxing yet on trend print and your go to top when you’re not feeling your fiercest”. Casual tops like this don’t need to be boring and in one block colour. The colours, cut and delicate pleated effect of the top proves that simplicity can be easy to achieve whilst still looking on trend.

This top feels light when worn so it is the perfect spring to summer cover up and again due to its casual essence it’s the perfect top to thrown on when you’re having a wardrobe malfunction, agreed?

I don’t think a chevron top really needs jewellery to make a statement, it simply needs a dark lipstick and some hoop earrings to give it the street-wear edge. If you wanted to wear a chevron top for an evening event you should try adding a few thin necklaces for a girlie take on quite a bold pattern.

This chevron top could work well paired with a simple leather jacket. Or to achieve a very casual but tasteful style try pairing the outfit with a mac trench coat, skinny ripped jeans, trainers and a back pack for the perfect off- duty look.

My mind is already pondering the different ways that I can continue to restyle this top over and over again. I’ll be sure to keep you posted…
