A Drop Of Peach

img_4985I was instantly drawn to this peach top during the Christmas sales at TopShop. The echo peach tone instantly made me dream of Spring and what a simple yet fashionable way to update my wardrobe.

I have previously mentioned that I don’t seem to have enough tops that make a statement, so during the sale season and now I have been on the search for tops that can spruce up the simplest of outfits. I also think it’s time to sample some new shades and not stick to what I know and what I’m comfortable in.

I channeled quite a simplistic look by pairing the top with my trusty suede zip through skirt, as I wanted to take quite a girly approach and create something that I could wear to work you know when you feel like looking extra nice. This look reminds me of a romantic inspired style that I had seen Ralph Lauren explore years ago.

Peach is quite a statement colour now but you have to be careful that it doesn’t wash you out. I think the black skirt and tights helps the peach to be a statement yet the other black items create a more fiercer and young silhouette. I  love the playfulness of the ruffles combined with the silk and to complete this quite ultra soft feminine style I decided to got for a more nude pink with a slight undertone of brown.

Some pastel coloured clothes need a dark lipstick to help highlight the colour of the clothes more but for this look, I like that the top does all the talking and doesn’t require heavy makeup.

Seeing as we are still enduring winter, you could wear the top with a sheepskin oversized cape or jacket for a Chloé take on how to wear ruffles, which will help you to create a street luxe style.

If you buy a simple blouse like this in a pastel colour or peachy tone, it will come in handy as a layering piece during the colder months.
