Spring is one of my favourite fashion seasons along with autumn. This year I am itching to wear lilac as it’s not a colour I usually embrace as often I find the lilac shade is just a bit too pale. However, this year for me is all about creating futuristic spring styles and knockout looks by clashing lilac against tough purple tones.
But for this look I just played on more of a soft outfit with a spritz of space to uplift the look and my Vivienne Westwood orb necklace to make the look brighter.
I bought this Topshop jumper after being inspired by Michael Kors’ cable knit last year and lilac is not a colour you often see on the high street so naturally I wanted it even more! Lilac is such an on trend hue for this spring, the Dolly Mixture shade can simply update your ripped jeans and will add a feminine touch when styled with your favourite embroidered jeans.
Don’t underestimate the paleness of lilac as it is so eye catching and will instantly freshen your wardrobe up. Knit wear can sometimes be quite dull and it can be quite boring to keep doing the rounds with your black, grey and cream jumpers, so inject a pop of colour to your wardrobe and get ready for spring. Lilac is a pretty colour that works well when worn with other pale colours such as pastel pink, so you could try teaming a lilac top with a pale pink skirt for a more 8os take. I decided to inject a bit of an 80s feel with my silver metallic boots form Primark.
If you want the the look to really slay then team a lilac top with a dark purple skirt and a slightly deeper lilac hue coat which will make you look catwalk ready, for sure!
I will be wearing this jumper with my longline grey coat and my Chloé dupe bag ( I have a new one which will be featured very soon on the blog) worn across my body. The grey tone will still allow attention to be payed to the lilac colour of my jumper and will make it more modern as opposed to a black coat. A stylish detailed cross body bag helps to keep the look girly and add a lilac matte lipstick to really highlight the colour in your outfit and to add serious sass points.
Are you all for lilac leading the way this spring?
