I have wanted this leather PU skirt after seeing insta-famous fashionista – Lissy Roddy wear it and show me that it just has to be a seasonal statement skirt.
After selling out fast on H&M, I regularly searched for the skirt online and after trying both the size 10 and 12, I preferred the roomy-ness of the 12 and if I want to stuff jumpers into this faux PU skirt, then a bigger size just had to be.
I decided to take Lissy’s approach and go bare-legged whilst we’re still embracing this autumnal sunshine and unusual warmer temperatures.
I found this tuelle yellow top in New Look at the weekend, on it’s own, in a size 8 – was it a sign? I think so!
The thing that I love the most about this top is that it has a yellow cami sewn underneath so I don’t need to worry about the dreaded question of ‘what colour top shall I wear under’? I also really like how it can be worn as a layer, come the much colder and dark days of winter.
I think yellow and black are just a great pairing for anytime of the year. Personally I love that the top gives the overall look a touch of femininity and romanticism, inspired by Prada, whilst the skirt brings the edginess, fierceness and British style of McQueen.
I decided to wear my short square leather boots from Topshop to heighten the toughness of the look and my ring detail bag to ensure all eyes were on the intricate detail of my top and skirt.
