I’ve always been a bit unsure about pleats, but then I found this vibrant mustard yellow skirt from the Zara sale and everything changed. It ticks two trends in one with its pleats and velvet two very feminine styles for autumn/winter this year – might I add. It also comes in a vibrant yellow tone which is also an AW18 trend, oh so I guess that makes it three trends… as if I need anymore reasons to love this skirt!
This skirt was found in the depths of the Zara sale earlier this summer and for £15 who really can resist such a beautiful bargain!? The cut of the skirt is very straight which stops you feeling frumpy, so that’s why I decided to wear the skirt during the height of summer (yes I know we’re experiencing a beautiful heatwave but I just needed to share this skirt with you before autumn.) I decided to wear a knot front t-shirt with this skirt to modernise it, a headband to keep it youthful and the tie-up shoes from Office just makes the look a bit more edgy. My circle bag from Topshop which will always be my Chloé dupe just adds a bit of character to the look, with its circular shape. A sharp knife cut pleated skirt in a vibrant colour is also the perfect skirt to wear to occasions such as a wedding.
I can’t wait to wear this skirt with boots and a jumper during the next season but for now I’ll add a headband to feel extra fabulous in a luxurious skirt.
What do you think to the look?
